1. Bioenergy Challenge Dialogue

A national Challenge Dialogue over a six-month period sponsored by BIOCAP and the Energy Innovation Network. The Dialogue engaged approximately 230 participants drawn from across the country and representing the sectors of agriculture, forestry, oil and gas, petrochemicals, waste management, academia, government and NGOs addressed the question of bioenergy in Canada. The purpose of their efforts was to establish a comprehensive, cross-sectoral strategy to advance the proposition that the nascent bioenergy sector can become a significant contributor to Canada's energy mix while providing sustainable environmental, societal and economic benefits to the citizens of Canada.

2. Alberta Fibre Roadmap

This large initiative was led by Forintek and the Alberta Research Council. IE Inc. supported key components of the project. The results of the project can be  found at http://www.technology.gov.ab.ca/en/Fibre_Roadmap.cfm. To complement the Roadmap, IE Inc. also developed a series of graphical logic model charts. We provide two examples here:

• Strategy 1: Building Biorefineries and an Integrated Cellulose Industrial Cluster

3. Design of a Food Innovation Network

IE Inc. provided the support (principles, processes and tools) to help a small team in Guelph, Ontario design a proposed Food Innovation Network. The Food Innovation Network intends to be a catalyst to shape the future of agriculture, food, health and well-being through fostering collaborative approaches to food innovation. The Network aims to bring together governments, universities, industry and non-government organizations to foster dialogue, develop a shared vision, align resources and take determined action through innovation in food.
